In a method and a device for the testing of vehicle pneumatic tyres, particularly for obtaining comparative values of the noise development, a counterpressure pneumatic tyre (12) of approximately the same dimensions is arranged opposite a test tyre (11). Guided between the test tyre and the counterpressure pneumatic tyre there is a running strip (13) on which a predeterminable wheel loading (15, 17) acts bilaterally during the test.
