The conveying-away device runs at the same capacity as or with a higher capacity than the feeding device (51). Differences in capacity are compensated by transfer steps, executed as idle strokes, of the transfer conveyor (26), which transfer steps are controlled as a function of the phase position of the feeding cycle with respect to the delivery cycle.
