The invention relates to geometrical bodies as media for markings, by means of which various, in particular written characters such as, for example, letters or numbers can be produced or displayed, cuboids with surfaces and edges arranged at right angles to each other, and with a square ground plan, being provided as media for the characters, the cuboids being capable of being assembled in pairs to form cubes in a variable manner and the cuboids bearing markings in the form of parts of characters on their respective surfaces, these being so designed that, in the assembled state, complete characters such as for example letters and/or numbers are produced, it being possible to represent a very wide variety of characters by different arrangement and association of the cuboids of the cube. This solution is universally and variably applicable to a very wide variety of information and inscription examples and makes it unnecessary to have a large number of conventional letter and number panels or media for each character position. <IMAGE>
