摘要 Appliances for the electrophoretic separation of solution fractions are known in principle and are used in practice particularly in the separation of proteins. The separation process can be carried out, for example, in a duct which is bounded on both sides by gel layers and through which an eluent-buffer solution flows, the gel layers being in contact with buffer solutions, one of which contains the particles to be fractionated. Under the effect of the electric field, some of the charged particles penetrate through the one gel layer and are discharged from the system with the eluent-buffer solution. An appliance according to the invention is characterised by three ducts (9, 10, 11) arranged underneath one another, the central duct being used to carry a starting solution, whereas the two on the side each serve to carry an eluent-buffer solution. Under the influence of an electric field, charged particles are transferred from the starting solution, according to their polarity, either into the one or the other duct, so that three fractions are obtained, namely one containing positively charged particles, one containing negatively charged particles and one containing electrically neutral particles. <IMAGE>
