METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LOAD DISTRIBUTION FOR A CONTINUOUS ROLLING MILL

The process uses mutiple pairs of rollers that have associated detectors to monitor the contact pressure. The detector outputs are fed to a pressure distribution control system. Specific section reductions produced between successive roller pairs are produced by controlling the contact pressures to specific relationships. Contact pressure control is achieved by generating control commands from the main unit that are transmitted to individual roller spacing control unit. The system is readily modified to allow a greater number of reduction roller pairs to be included.
