The memory cartridge has a case (12) with a circuit board (18) housed inside it. A non-volatile memory is mounted on the circuit board and has a large memory capacity. The memory area is divided into several banks. An active device is mounted on the circuit board for selectively designating a bank of the first memory. A second small capacity memory is mounted on the board. - Conductive patterns are formed on the circuit board which lead address terminals and data terminals of the two memories to an edge of the circuit board. This enables the memories to be connected to the CPU of the main unit.
