PURPOSE:To improve the discharge characteristic, storage characteristic, and closed circuit voltage characteristic by using Na salt of preset carboxymethyl- cellulose as a gelatinizer. CONSTITUTION:Na salt of carboxymethyl-cellulose with etherification degree of 0.8-1.2, average molecular weight of 450000-680000, and polymerization degree of 2000-3100 is used as a gelatinizer in a cell using sodium hydroxide as an alkaline electrode. The silver oxide cell is constituted of a positive electrode case 1, a positive electrode black mix 2 mainly made of silver oxide, a separator 4 formed with cellophane and a porous film made of polyethylene, an impregnant 5 made of cellulose, a sealing ring 6, a negative electrode 7 made of amalgamated zinc powder and carboxymethyl-cellulose as a gelatinizer, and a sealing plate 8. |
