PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization of a tape running body and track head scanning of a very thin tape into a narrow track by assembling incorporatedly a tape strip carrying mechanism and a head scanning mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 1 is in contact with cylindrical ultrasonic wave vibrator components 2A, 2B and carried by pressing members 9A, 9B clipping the tape in the broadwise direction. A head drum 4 is driven by a motor 5 being a hollow part of the ultrasonic wave vibrator component 2A, a head 6 in the outer circumference of a drum 4 is in contact with the tape 1, moved in the broadwise direction and the surface is scanned in interlocking with the carrying. The pressing members 9A, 9B use piezoelectric elements 10A, 10B to change the pressing force. The pressing force is changed in the broadwise direction of the tape 1 to vary minutely the moving speed at both sides in the broadwise direction of the tape thereby controlling the displacement of the tape in the broadwise direction to be a constant value. Through the constitution above, stable and accurate tape carrying is attained and the size of the tape running system is made small. The tape is loaded by using a solenoid 12 and an opening lever. |
