This device has separate computers for programming and for machining control to permit machining to take place while a new, subsequent program is being programmed. The device includes two main sections, a programming section (TPC) and a machining control section (NCC). The machining control section has its own microprocessor (201), a ROM (202) storing control programs, a RAM (203) for storing machining programs and also a correction data input and display (204,205) etc. and controls a machine (MAC). The programming section includes a microprocessor (101), a data input keyboard (104), a display (105), a ROM (102) for tape storage and display data editing control programs, a rewritable RAM (103), and an interface (106).
