摘要 A tangentially-fired, pulverized coal-burning furnace includes a combustion chamber (2) of square cross section. There are pivotable fuel and air nozzles (11,12) in each corner, ejecting fuel and air to generate flames relative to the center line of the chamber to form a fireball (3) swirling about the axis (4) of chamber. There is an exit (5) from the upper portion of the chamber for the flue gases generated in the chamber. A convection section is connected to the flue gas exit. At least one nozzle (15) is mounted in the upper portion of the chamber ejecting secondary air at the velocity to opose the swirl of the fireball in its upper portion to produce a uniform nonswirling mass flow of exit gases.
