PURPOSE:To prevent locking of a wheel even when a V-belt is broken, by a method wherein a chamber on the side where a V-belt type continuously variable transmission mechanism is separated from a chamber on the side where a differential mechanism is situated. CONSTITUTION:A chamber 32 on the side wherein a V-belt type continuously variable transmission mechanism 13 is situated is separated from a chamber 34 on the side where a differential mechanism 20 is situated by means of a wall 36 of a casing. However, since the transmission mechanism 13 and the differential mechanism 20 use the same working oil and lubricating oil, the two chambers 32 and 34 are connected to the interior of an oil pan, and flow of oil is possible to make. In order to move from the one chamber to the other chamber, the oil flows through a vertical hole to the interior of the oil pan and is horizontally moved in the oil pan, and then must be moved through a vertical hole to above. As noted above, a passage is formed approximately in a U-shape, the oil can pass therethrough, and can not pass a block. Thus, even when a V-belt 18 is broken, a block is prevented from entering the differential mechanism 20 side, and a wheel is prevented from lock. |
