The device includes a device for locking a movable contact member against movement in response to detachment of a grounding conductor. When a measurement test is completed in a condition in which the movable member remains open, the member is locked in that condition. The switch includes a closed vessel enclosing a high-voltage conductor and filled with an electrical insulating medium and a terminal plate electrically insulated from the vessel with the contact member electrically connected to the plate so as to be movable toward and away from the conductor.
