A chemical light device comprises a chemiluminescent mixt. with a first fluorescer (I), and a second fluorescer (II). (I) is activated by the reaction of a chemiluminescer compd. and a peroxide component contained inside a transparent or translucent container. (II) is incorporated in the walls of the container or in a wrap surrounding the container. (II) has emission max. at longer wavelength than (I) and an absorption spectrum overlapping part of the emission spectrum of (I). (I) is e.g. 1-chloro-9,10bis(phenylethynyl) anthracene and (II) is e.g. Rocket Red Z- 13.
