METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRESSURE SINTERING METHOD OF POWDER

PURPOSE:To easily prevent the intrusion of impurities into a capsule by connecting the capsule to a vacuum pump and deaerating the inside of the capsule during heating and pressurizing. CONSTITUTION:A pressurizing pump 11 is operated to increase the gaseous pressure in a furnace body 9 to 1000atm and the vacuum pump 4 is operated to reduce the pressure in the capsule to 10<-2>Torr. The inside of the capsule is simultaneously heated to 1100 deg.C and this state is maintained for one hour, by which a powder material 2 is sintered. As a result, the sintered body subjected to the vacuum evacuation is extremely decreased in the content of oxygen. The high values of hardness and absorption energy are obtd. and the mechanical strength is greatly improved if such sintered body is hardened and tempered.
