A decorative paint contains (all pts. wt.): 150-200 aq. styrene maleate copolymer dispersion (52% solids); 0.9-2.4 ammonia (25%); 20-35 inorganic dispersing agent soln. (10%) of sodium-hexa-metaphosphate or sodium-polyphosphate; 1.6-2.5 organic dispersant of vinylacetate-crotonic acid copolymer as ammonium-polymethacrylate of low molecular wt.; 18-26 hydroxy-ethyl-cellulose soln. (15%) 5-8-sodium-chloro-phenate. 730-799 fillers comprising 60-90 mice, 200-340 chalk, 300-480 feldspar, 2-10 pigment of phthalo-cyanine, black-iron-oxide, or scarlet-red RN and 6-50 water.
