PURPOSE:To provide the title element which is capable of emitting light reliably, is simple in structure and is suitable for miniaturization by bringing glass members into tight contact with an element body by a transparent adhesive material having a prescribed refractive index. CONSTITUTION:The glass member 2 is adhered by a transparent adhesive agent 3 to the element body 1. The element body 1 is formed of a nonlinear optical crystal which generates second harmonic waves under incidence of, for example, laser light and the glass members 2 consist of, for example, sheet glass. For example, general UV curing adhesive agents are used for the transparent adhesive agent 3. KNbO3, in the case of using the crystal KNbO3 as the element body 1, has a phase transition point at 232 deg.C and, therefore, there is the possibility of cracking of the crystal if the crystal is subjected to a surface antireflection treatment by forming a thin film thereof, but the surface antireflection treatment is executed without applying heat to the element body 1 and, therefore, no influences are exerted to the element body 1. The surface reflection is thereby prevented without affecting the element body and further, the optical element which is simple in the structure, is suitable for miniaturization and is capable of emitting light reliably is obtd. |
