The lock S, particularly intended for a motor vehicle door, comprises a rotary catch 1 intended to interact with a keeper 2 and includes drive means 16 suitable for assisting at least the closure, as well as manual control means allowing opening and closing in the event of breakdown of the assistance motor means 16. It comprises a transmission device T of the free-wheel type 17 suitable for imparting to the catch 1 a rotational movement from assistance means 16 for the direction which corresponds to closing the lock S, as well as anti-jamming means suitable for being actuated by the manual control means for the purpose of preventing the normal jamming action of the free-wheel 17 and of uncoupling the catch from the assistance means 16 in the event of breakdown of these last components. <IMAGE>
