Fifth wheel kingpin for a fifth wheel coupling

A fifth wheel kingpin for a fifth wheel coupling is proposed, the pin head and central portion of which are enclosed with minimum play by a bushing. The surface of the pin head and of the central portion is provided, for example, with a coating which ensures better slidability and hence better resistance to wear. A coating for the bushing is also possible. The proposed arrangement reduces to a minimum the wear on the fifth wheel kingpin and on the fifth wheel coupling closure and is, as a result, economical in use since when wear does occur the bushing, for example, may be exchanged. <IMAGE>
