<p>An arrangement for laying loops of yarn on to an endless conveyor belt moving through a yarn processing chamber, includes a hollow rotating spindle with a lateral opening. An arm is fixed on the spindle and has an eyelet for guiding the yarn. There is also a stationary drum with a conical mantle surface, the centre line of which lies on the extension of the axis of the hollow spindle. The yarn passing through the hollow spindle and the lateral opening is wound on the drum by the eyelet. A pressing disc is assembled obliquely on the drum and a mechanism oscillates it, so that the yarn coiled on the drum is pushed off in successive loops. The oscillation is set up by an extension positioned on the hollow spindle at an angle to its centre line, and free to rotate on it, and in the internal hub of the drum there is a shaft allowing the hollow spindle to rotate whilst disc and drum do not rotate. It is not necessary to have additional equipment to turn the loops of yarn over before rewinding after treatment. The loops are laid inclined and slightly overlapping each other in the direction of motion of the belt, so that an upper loop is always lifted from one beneath during rewinding.</p> |
