The invention relates to a method for identification of the sensor association with output signals from an electrical machine having at least two standardized sensor elements (11, 12) which are associated with a rotating body (50). An undefined signal sequence (42, 43, 44) of sensor signals from the at least two standardized sensor elements (11, 12) is detected for a first rotation direction of the electrical machine. The undefined signal sequence is sorted with respect to the electrical angle f of the electrical machine corresponding to an offset (82) in the electrical angle f per sensor signal. Zero crossings (70, 72, 74, 76, 78, 80) of phases (R, Y, B) of the electrical machine are associated with the sensor signals.
