The method involves generating an image, and marking documents to make the image on each of the documents with variations for each document, where the majority of the images formed on the documents presents a physical anti-copy feature which corresponds to a preset criteria such as feature of the majority of the copies that is made from the images not corresponding to the preset criteria. The variations are characterized for forming a single imprint from the mark for each document, and the single imprint is memorized in a database. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a document.
