A process for producing laminated metal composites with improved microstructure formation by bonding at least one solid web-shaped metal component with a second heated web-shaped metal component, while passing them through the roll nip of a pair of internally cooled rolls which reduce the thickness of the laminated composite, is characterized in that the second metal component is caused to emerge in the molten state from a slot die which is sealed on one side against a solid web-shaped metal component and on the other side against a roll of the pair of rolls or a further solid web-shaped metal component, and is combined downstream of the slot die and upstream of the roll nip with the web-shaped metal component or components, during which at least the core of the second metal component is still in the molten state when the component comes into contact with the solid web-shaped metal components.
