A method for oxidizing carbon black in the exhaust-gas branch of diesel engines. The technical problem is the complete and continuous oxidation of carbon black in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. The exhaust gas is oxidized continuously in a catalytic manner. The oxidation temperature is kept at the optimum value by heat transfer. <IMAGE>
