The invention relates to a method and a device for manufacturing a vehicle wheel with a pneumatic tyre, consisting of a rim with radially inwardly extending rim flanges and, next to these, bead seat faces which are arranged on the inner circumference for the bead heels of a tubeless tyre. In order to develop a method and a device for manufacturing in a simple and cost-effective manner a vehicle wheel with radially inwardly extending rim flanges, it is proposed that the axially inwardly extending or outwardly extending side parts in the region of the central element with the greater cross-section be separated from a blank, which is cast or forged hot in the swage, of a wheel, the said blank being thickened in the rim area in cross-section essentially in a T shape and at the central element, i.e. at the junction between the side parts and the wheel disc, and that subsequently after processing of the remaining central element of the blank and of the cut-off side parts the worked side parts be rotated or their sides inverted by 180 degrees with respect to the original position in the blank with an axis of rotation lying parallel to the radial axis and be connected to the worked central element in an airtight fashion. <IMAGE>
