The invention relates to the installation of a shaft having at least one gearwheel mounted on it, in a transmission housing. The shaft has two sets of bearings, one directly in the housing (1), and one in a bearing plate (12), which is centred in the housing. The bearing in the housing is on a common axis with that in the bearing plate (12) but the centring of the bearing plate in the housing is radially offset thereto. ……
