In the case of a gas burner for a gas heating appliance, an NOx and CO reduction of the waste gas is to be achieved. For this, provision is made for a mixing nozzle (4) which, in the flow direction of the burnable gas (G), has a gas nozzle (6), a mixing chamber (5) into which the gas nozzle (6) projects, and an outflow nozzle (7) directed at a burner tube (2). A waste gas tube (9) opens into the mixing chamber (5), the other end (10) of which waste gas tube ends at a waste gas-collecting box (3). In addition, openings (11) for receiving atmospheric primary air are provided in the mixing chamber (5). By means of a negative pressure in the mixing chamber (5), waste gas and primary air is sucked in and admixed to the burnable gas. By means of this arrangement, very good intermixing of burnable gas with waste gas and air is achieved. Furthermore, by means of the admixture of air, the dew point of the burnable-gas/waste-gas/primary-air mixture is reduced, thereby effectively preventing condensate formation. <IMAGE>
