<p>A pellet press for ground animal feeding stuff is controlled by raising the amount of steam introduced in a mixer preceding the press until the load current of the press drive motor begins to rise. It is then reduced until the current has reached a minimum and is retained at that level until any change in feed results in a motor current rise. The steam admixture rate is then readjusted. This requires only one control system to keep the motor current to a minimum. Such an automatic control increases the efficiency of the press and ensures the best utilisation of the press capacity.</p> |
