PURPOSE:To discover the target effectively through discriminating the target out of noises by a method wherein, pixels having an intensity larger than those of the peripheral pixels by the threshold value and above are compared frame by frame, and a pixel of the current frame is determined as the target in case when the distance between pixels is below a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A detection output with an infrared ray detector camera 1 is written into a memory 4 via a D/A conversion and then, the pixels with the intensity larger than the peripheral pixels by the threshold value and above are memorized into a memory 7 as target pixel with a maximum point decision circuit 5 via a switch 6. Likewise, the target pixel of the subsequent frame is memorized into a memory 8. Then, a discrimination circuit 9 compares the distance between the pixels stored in the memories 7 and 8. When the distance is below a specified value, the contents of the memory 8 are identified as true target irrelevant to noises changing with the passage of time and indicated on a display 11. This enables better discrimination of the target from the noise thereby effectively discovering the target otherwise mingled among noises. |
