Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the cavities 4 is in communication with a reservoir 10 of a dentifrice 5. The toothbrush 1 can be used repeatedly without fresh application of dentifrice 5 to it each time. In use, dentifrice 5 is dissolved out by contact with saliva or tap water. <IMAGE>
