The winding element (1) is constructed as an endless strip and consists of webs forming conductor elements (2) and edge parts forming retaining elements (3, 4), which in each case have holes (7) constructed at the same intervals. The conductor elements (2) are inserted into the opening in an annular core (torroidal core) (22), are laid around a core section, and one end of the conductor element (2) is in each case connected to the other end of the adjacent conductor element, to form a winding. <IMAGE>
