Parted heat-exchanger tubes that can no longer be withdrawn during inspection of a heat exchanger must be secured against swinging until the next inspection phase. The expanding sleeve (13) of the insert (3) used for this purpose has a penetration (23), through which at least one spring-supported finger (20) protrudes into the gap (2) of the tube (1). An overrunning clutch (24) associated with the draw-in bolt (4) allows the insert (3) to be held in a supported manner during the expansion. A sleeve (7) located between the draw-in bolt (4) and the expanding sleeve (13) prevents the draw-in bolt (15) twisting by means of a pin (12). <IMAGE>
