<p>PURPOSE: To provide a durable bat by a method wherein a unidirectional prepreg is previously cut into strips and the strips are laminated radially to form a bat tip member and a grip end member and are arranged in a metal mold together with other bat outer shell forming materials to be integrally molded. CONSTITUTION: At a tip part 4 or a grip end part 5 of a bat, a unidirectional prepreg is cut into strips and the strips 6 are laminated radially to previously form a tip member 4' or a grip end member 5' as separate body. The members 4' and 5' are arranged in a metal mold together with other bat outer shell forming materials 3 and subjected to a thermal molding. The fiber composing the strips 6 and the other bat shell forming materials is preferably a carbon fiber, a glass fiber or a graphite fiber-aromatic polyamide fiber, and the fiber- reinforced resin herein usable is a thermosetting resin, a thermoplastic resin or the like. At the tip part 4 and the grip end part 5, the strips 6 for the bat 1 comprising the unidirectional prepreg are radially laminated and arranged in the metal mold so as to cross over the tip part and the grip end part. This prevents possible reduction in thickness otherwise caused by an internal pressure, thereby eliminating disturbed fibers during the thermal molding.</p> |
