PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a rotary knife body having radial fluid passages in its inside by forming the radial fluid passages extending from the inside of the periphery of a mounting hole to the outside peripheral end in an intermediate plate, fitting outer plates with a mounting hole in their centers into both surfaces of the intermediate plate with the fluid passages formed in its inside, and drilling a hole in the center of the intermediate plate. CONSTITUTION:Radial fluid passages 15a extending from the inside of the periphery of a mounting hole 11b to the outside peripheral end is formed in an intermediate plate 20. Then, outer plates 19 in which a mounting hole are drilled respectively in their centers are locked on both surfaces of the intermediate plate 20. The intermediate plate 20 joined with the outer plates 19 is drilled in its center to form the mounting hole 11b for the intermediate plate 20, thus a rotary knife body 10a having the fluid passages extending through the outside periphery of the mounting hole 11b in the radial direction is formed. A cooling medium flows out through the fluid passages to the outer peripheral side of a cutting edge to lubricate and cool the cutting edge, and remove chips of the cutting edge from a cutting place. As a result, degradation of the cutting edge can be prevented. |
