PURPOSE:To stop a snap ring easily and quickly and to protect a rack shaft from damage by moving the snap ring from feeding section to an enlarging section, then holding it in enlarged condition and moving to the way of the rack shaft and releasing the enlarged condition. CONSTITUTION:When a snap ring S drops naturally to the lower end of a ring feed frame 6 then an enlarged head section 10 moves to the right and removed from a ring support tube 1, a sliding body 3 moves in the direction of an opening 1a and stops at the ring S so as to stop motion in the frame 6 temporarily. Then a ring enlarging section B moves to the height of a ring stop section C and the enlarged head section 10 enters idly into a through-hole 19. When the ring S on an enlargement holding face 10b contacts with a base metal contact face 18b, the ring S is held in enlarged state. When the sliding rod 9 returns to a cylinder housing 8, the head section 10 leaves the ring S at the stopping section C and resets the enlarged section B. Thereafter, the stopping section C moves to a ring stop groove Pd position of a rack shaft R to release enlarged state and stop the ring S in a ring stop groove Rd. |
