PURPOSE: To not only reduce the time for curing a tire by simplifying the curing process thereof but also manufacture an excellent tire with precured retread by a method wherein an uncured rubber mixed layer is formed on an annular region of the tire side surface between the buff-finished region and the tread edge and the mixed layer functions as a barrier not to have the cured medium enter the mixed layer. CONSTITUTION: The reforming process to apply to each side of a tire 10 an uncured rubber annular layer 16 to mix the brushed or filed edge of a tread 12 with the buff-finished tire region is performed before the tire 10 is disposed in a curing chamber. When disposing the tire in the curing chamber and introducing vapor therein, at least the surface of a rubber polymerized layer 16 is cured. During the process above, a mixed layer 16 prevents the vapor from impregnating beneath the tread, and further, a cushion layer 11 and a caulking layer 17 are cured and prevent the vapor from entering the coupling section therebetween. Thus, the tread 12 is mounted on the tire casing by the mixed layer 16 before the cushion layer 11 becomes incapable of holding the tread 12. |
