PURPOSE:To obtain an optical coupler which can be attached to an arbitrary place and easily adjusts the quantity of light, by retaining and bending an optical fiber with a screw or the like. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is inserted through a coupler 3 having a screw 2, and the screw 2 is adjusted to adjust the extent of bend of the optical fiber, thereby adjusting the quantity of leaked light of the fiber. When the end face of another optical fiber 4 is arranged in the bend position of the fiber 1, the leaked light is led to the fiber 4. When a pin 5 having claws 6 is used instead of the screw, the position of each claw indicates the quantity of leaked light and the quantity of leaked light is changed to steps whose number corresponds to the number of claws. |
