An auto destination setting unit in a navigation system by driver pattern extraction combination and a method thereof are provided to optimize driving paths to a destination by automatically setting the destination during driving. An auto destination setting unit in a navigation system by driver pattern extraction combination includes a pattern extraction destination setting module(10). The pattern extraction destination setting module sets a destination by extracting a pattern of a driver. A database(20) stores information on a traveling pattern of the driver. A map(30) stores various load information. A path signal is a signal related with a current position generated by a GPS, a gyro-sensor, and a speed sensor. The display device is connected with a main navigation module. An input device(60) receives destination information for setting a destination. A traffic information receiver(70) receives path signals to transmit to the main navigation module. The main navigation module is connected with the traffic information receiver and a destination setting module and includes path search and screen display. The destination setting module sets a final destination through auto destination setting.
