PURPOSE:To realize high recording density on a high coercive force medium by inclining the boundary surface of a ferrite and a metallic magnetic film for the sliding surface of the medium. CONSTITUTION:The metallic magnetic films 15 and 16 of which saturated magnetic flux density is high are formed near the magnetic gap 13 of a magnetic head consisting of the ferrites 11 and 12, the magnetic gap 13 and a coil window 14 so as to make the inclined angle of the boundary surfaces 17 and 18 of the films 15 and 16 and the ferrites 11 and 12 and the magnetic sliding surface 19 to be theta. The dummy gap length on the sliding surface 19 is looked to be (1/sintheta) folds in comparison with the usual dummy gap length at the boundary surfaces 17 and 18 of the ferrites 11 and 12 and the films 15 and 16, it is controlled by the loss of a gap that an unnecessary signal is picked up by the dummy gap. Besides, as the ferrites 11 and 12 are made to be an obtuse angle with the sliding surface 19 at the boundary surfaces 17 and 18, the magnetic saturation can be controlled at that part. Thus, an intensive magnetic field is generated and the high recording density on the high coercive force medium can be realized. |
