PURPOSE:To obtain a hard resin composition for medical use excellent in shelf life against erythrocytes, by mixing a specific monocarboxylic ester into a hard resin composition. CONSTITUTION:A hard resin composition for medical use contains 0.5-5wt.% of monocarboxylic ester represented by general formula RCOOR', wherein at least one of R or R' has the bifurcate structure: R and R' each are a chain hydrocarbon group with a number of carbons 3, and be sum of their numbers of carbons is 11-30. Further, the compound represented by general formula is isopropyl isolaurate, isopropyl oleate, 2-ethylhexyl isostearate, or 2- ethylhexyl-2-ethylhexanoate. Mixture of a monocarboxylic ester compound represented by general formula can provide a hard resin composition excellent in shelf life against erythrocytes on contact with blood. A molding formed out of said material is excellent in safety, processability, transparency, heat resistance, and so forth and can display its effects thoroughly as the medical instrument. |
