PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a system at the time of starting up a CPU by generating a trigger signal from a timer circuit after a prescribed time when an IPL operation is not completed normally, and performing the IPL operation again by resetting the CPU by generating a reset pulse from a reset pulse generation circuit. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed time in which a time required for the IPL operation is included is set at the timer circuit 3, and the timer circuit 3 is started by interlocking to the IPL operation of the CPU 2. When the IPL operation is not completed normally, the trigger signal is generated at the timer circuit 3 after the prescribed time, and the IPL operation is performed again by resetting the CPU 2 by generating the reset pulse at the reset pulse generation circuit 4 by the trigger signal. In such a way, it is possible to perform the retry processing of IPL by resetting the runaway of the CPU 2 before starting up a program by controlling hardware, and to improve the reliability of the system at the time of starting up the CPU 2.
