PURPOSE: To obtain a thread cutter blade with wear resistance and durability by coating a titanium nitride film in a specified thickness on the whole part or blade part of the thread cutter blade which is obtained by forging a carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel and stainless steel through the use of a sputtering or ion plating method. CONSTITUTION: A titanium nitride(TiN) film is coated in a thickness of 0.5μm-3.0μm on the whole part or blade part of the cutter blade which is obtained by forging carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel and stainless steel by the sputtering or ion plating method in the thread cutter consisting of a mobile blade 1 and fixed blade 2 to be used in the thread cutting device of a sewing machine. The mobile blade 1 which is coated with a TiN coating film being 0.5μm-3.0μm in thickness is provided with the drastically high durability. Thus, the thread cutter is manufactured, where a point 7a is a circular arcuate shape (round shape) being 0.5μm-3.0μm since it is coated in a thickness of 0.5μm-3.0μm and is provided with proper rounding, by which the thread is excellently cut by a pinching cut by the fixed blade 2 and the point 2a and where the durability is provided without breakage or gnawing when the blades meet.
