<p>PURPOSE:To rapidly and smoothly engage and disengage a clutch by providing a controller for controlling the opening and closing of supply and discharge valves and a sensor for detecting the initiation of operation of a piston, and by setting the time of termination of the first valve opening period to an output time point to the above-mentioned sensor when the clutch is engaged and disengaged. CONSTITUTION:When a clutch is engaged and disengaged, the time of termination of the first valve opening period of a solenoid valve 20 is set to a time point at which a stroke sensor 15 issues a signal for operating a piston 6, and turn-on and -off control is carried out subsequent to the second valve opening period after the initiation of movement of the piston 6 is detected. Accordingly, even though the friction coefficients of an actuator 1 and a clutch body is large and a hysteresis exists between the stroke of the piston 6 and the pressure of compressed air in a working chamber 7, the piston 6 can be held in such a condition that it can be at once operated. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize the delay of the initiation of operation caused by the hysteresis. Thereby it is possible to improve the responsiveness during semi-clutch operation.</p> |
