A microcomputer-based unit for rapidly being able to determine the brightness of a paper or paper pulp directly within a production line. This is of interest where a quality assessment of the abovementioned products is made largely in dependence upon their brightness. As a result of this unit, an opportunity is given for being directly able to monitor the production quality and being able to carry out quality-enhancing measures. The unit emits a light created in a flash tube 9, one part of which returns to the unit, which unit filters out the chosen wavelength and, by calculation of the values measured by the unit for outgoing and returning light intensities of the chosen wavelength and the distance 16 between the unit and the measurement object 14, is able to calculate and display the brightness of the test object. <IMAGE> |
