<p>PURPOSE:To give a priority to a detecting signal, to start the reproduction of recording information and to attain the reproduction of the desired recording information just enough by obtaining the detecting signal from the recording information designated by a user out of first and second pieces of information. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing mechanism control circuit 42 controls a reproducing mechanism 44 composed by including a rotary drum to load a magnetic tape 1 and A, B heads 12A and 12B. When the reproducable information is not recorded at recording tracks TRA and TRB on the magnetic tape 1 based on a tape sending control signal S22, the magnetic tape 1 is driven so that the magnetic tape 1 is traveled by fast feeding or rewinding modes and the A, B heads 12A and 12B can be scanned and positioned to the position of recording tracks TRA and TRB to record the effective recording information. When the magnetic tape 1 is reproduced, a tape residual quantity detecting signal S24 to show the tape residual quantity and a head scanning area detecting signal S25 to show the area scanned by the A, B heads 12A and 12B are supplied to a system controller 35.</p> |
