PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the safety by connecting a rod which is slidable in association with the key lock operation of an ignition switch, to a lever member so as to allow the lever member to abut against a projecting pin at the lower end of a shift lever thereby it make the pull-out of the ignition key impossible without the shift lever being manipulated to a power range position. CONSTITUTION:A rod 7 which may slide and project in association with the lock operation of an ignition key is connected to a lever member 8 through the intermediary of an engaging pin 7a and a slot 8a. The lever member 8 is rotatably urged in the clockwise direction by a spring 12 so that it can abut against a projecting pin 11 at the lower end of the shift lever 1. When the shift lever is located other than a power range position, the engagement between the projecting pin 11 and the lever member 8 is released, and accordingly, the rod 7 is located at a position where the ignition key is unlocked. Even though the ignition key would be pulled out without the shift lever being manipulated to the power range position, it cannot be pulled out, thereby it is possible to enhance the safety. |
