There is provided a technique which can stably realize a high precision folding process irrespective of the number of sheets and the material of sheets constituting a bundle of sheets as an object of the folding process. At least one of information relating to the bundle of sheets as the object of the folding process by a folding blade and information relating to an environment in which the folding process is performed is acquired, and based on the acquired information, a position where the folding blade is brought into contact with the bundle of sheets as the object of the folding process is adjusted.
