PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the evaluating time by providing a stopper to a head arm system to stop mechanically the movement of said arm system and to apply the big disturbance of a fixed level to a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Mechanical stoppers 13 and 13' are provided on a base 12, and acceleration meters (a) and (b) are stuck to the upper and side parts of a head arm 9 to measure the impact power received by the arm 9 when it hits stoppers 13 and 13'. Then the acceleration is measured for the up/down direction and the seeking direction. The impact power is controlled to such a level or less that a magnetic head 11 is hit against the surface of a magnetic disk 7 and injured. Thus big disturbance of a fixed level is given the head 11 in addition to a normal application state, and the head 11 with rolling of the head surface and easily touching the disk surface performs continuous running of the disk. As a result, the test time is greatly reduced. |
