<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition giving a recorded image having excel lent sharpness, etc., and suitable for ink jet recording, by dissolving a basic polymer and an acidic polymer capable of forming a polymer complex in a polar solvent containing a basic substance and an acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by dissolving (A) a basic polymer and an acidic polymer capable of forming a polymer complex in (B) a polar solvent (preferably having a boiling point of <=140 deg.C, e.g. ethanol) containing a basic substance (e.g. triethylamine) and/or an acidic substance (e.g. acetic acid).
