The subject of the invention is an inertia key which can be used for manipulating nuts or screws and in particular for manually unblocking over-tightened nuts, for example on cars. The key according to the invention includes, centred on a single axis 1: a handgrip 2, an adaptor 6 receiving a socket 8 matched to the nut to be unblocked and, between the grip 2 and the adaptor 6, a cylindrical body 4 hubbed at each end by a head plate 3, 5. Inside the body 4 there is a movable member 10 on which there is anchored a manoeuvring arm 11 consisting of an inertia mass.
