<p>Press tool set is for mfg. ceramic blanks, esp. pressing plates from ceramic powder. The lower die is surrounded by a moving sleeve and is mounted in a tool base supported by a press table; whereas the upper die is carried by a holder fitted on the press ram. The upper die holder contains a set of work cylinders with pistons from which a ring-shaped filling shoe is suspended; and the shoe surrounds the upper die. The filling shoe has a ring-shaped outlet, which is opened when the upper die is raised, but closed when the upper die is lowered. The upper die is pref. provided with a collar which has a dia. larger than the bore dia. of the moving sleeve surrounding the lower die. The tool set is pref. mounted on horizontal pivot shafts so it can swivel, together with the filling shoe, on a horizontal axis. Uniform filling of the die cavity and thus uniform compaction of the moulding is achieved, which minimises distortion when the plate is baked.</p> |
